The Baháʼí House of Worship in Wilmette is known for its intricately detailed white exterior, nine-sided design and landscaped gardens. Explore the grounds, walk beneath the garden trellises and step inside the quiet central auditorium. The temple welcomes people of all faiths and backgrounds.

Transit

  • Take the Red Line to Howard and transfer to the Purple Line toward Linden. The accessible Linden station is a few blocks from the House of Worship.
  • During weekday rush hours, Purple Line Express trains provide direct service between the downtown Loop and Linden.
  • Pace bus routes 421, 422, and 423 also connect with the Linden station.

Parking

  • On-site visitor parking is available in the lot beside the Welcome Center, located just west of the temple along Linden Avenue.
  • Designated accessible spaces are available next to the Welcome Center and near the temple’s rear entrance.
  • The lot can fill during services and special events. Additional street parking may be available nearby, subject to posted restrictions.

Accessibility

  • The Welcome Center is step-free and fully accessible at ground level, with an elevator to the lower level. Accessible restrooms are available on both floors.
  • The gardens can be reached by ramps from the parking area and from the corner of Sheridan Road and Linden Avenue.
  • Wheelchair access to the Temple Auditorium requires using a separate elevator from the lower level. Check in at the Welcome Center reception desk or call 847-853-2300 so a staff member can provide access.
  • Designated accessible parking is available beside the Welcome Center and near the temple’s rear entrance. A loaner wheelchair is also available at the Welcome Center.
  • During winter weather, call ahead to confirm that the Auditorium’s accessible entrance is available.
