About

This enormous glasshouse is filled with lush palms, desert plants, tropical flowers and quiet pathways spread across several distinct indoor rooms. Each space feels like its own miniature world, making the conservatory equally enjoyable for plant lovers, families and anyone who needs a little greenery in the middle of winter. The newly revitalized EMG Children’s Garden gives younger visitors a dedicated space to explore nature through hands-on play and requires a separate 30-minute reservation. During warmer months, the outdoor gardens provide even more space to explore.

Transit

Take the Green Line to Conservatory–Central Park Drive. The accessible station is approximately half a block south of the conservatory’s main entrance.
The No. 82 Kimball–Homan bus stops approximately 0.4 miles east, and the No. 20 Madison bus stops approximately 0.4 miles south.

Parking

A free visitor parking lot is located just south of the main entrance.
The lot has three designated accessible parking spaces.
Free street parking is also available along Central Park Avenue and Lake Street.
A passenger drop-off lane with curb cuts is located directly in front of the entrance.

Paved pathways and ramps connect the parking lot to the entrance, which has an automatic push-button door.
The Green Line’s Conservatory–Central Park Drive station has an elevator.
The indoor gardens and primary visitor areas are wheelchair accessible.
A limited number of manual wheelchairs are available free of charge with a valid photo ID.
Sensory bags, noise-reducing headphones, visual communication cards and other accommodations are available.
